Amanda Grahn

Mrs. Grahn is an English Teacher and the Theatre Director at Devon Preparatory School. Originally from New Hampshire, she attended Loyola University Maryland’s combined B.A./M.A.T. program receiving Bachelor’s degrees in English and Theatre as well as a Master’s in Secondary Education. She started at Devon in 2016, teaching sixth grade ELA and 7th grade Writing while assisting with the theater productions. Since then she’s taught 10th grade British Literature as well but has found a home with the 9th grade teaching World Literature and helping them find their place in the Devon community. In her time at the school Mrs. Grahn has grown a true appreciation for what make’s Devon “Devon”, becoming a member of the “Seven Year Club” with the class of 2023 (some of whom she taught as 6th graders). Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Grahn runs a high school book club and is passionate about helping grow the Arts community at Devon, directing the theater productions and helping out in any way she can to give students opportunities to express themselves creatively in a safe and supportive environment.
