Brooks Imel

Brooks Imel is in his fourth year of teaching at Devon Prep, where he teaches English and history courses in the middle school. He is also the faculty advisor to the middle school LEGACY Council and the Outdoors Club. Prior to joining Devon, Brooks taught high school courses in American history, ethics, religion, and political theory. He also spent several years as a learning specialist and college guidance counselor, and he has taught college-level courses in childhood development and educational psychology.

Brooks has his BA in English from the University of Pennsylvania and MA in history from Georgetown University. He was a Summer Fellow at the Klingenstein Institute at Columbia Teachers’ College in 2013. From 2015 to 2018, he was a Chancellor’s Distinguished Fellow at the University of California, Riverside, where he earned a PhD in educational psychology.
