As quality education costs continue to rise, private contributions to Devon Prep are more important than ever before, and you may be able to contribute more that you realize. Gifts to Devon Prep can be made in a number of ways.
Annual Giving
Gifts to the Annual Fund are an important part of the School’s development program. Annual Giving helps to promote quality instruction, defray the cost of needed renovations and repairs, provide scholarships and financial aid for deserving students, and secure the growth of Devon Prep. Gifts to the Annual Fund may be unrestricted, or may be directed to a specific concern or project including:
Where the Need is Greatest
By allowing your gift to be used where the need is greatest you give Devon Prep the operating funds which allow small class size and a wide selection of Advanced Placement course.
Endowment
Funds designed for Endowment will help secure the future growth and stability of Devon Prep.
Technology Advancement
Gifts to the Technology Program will enable Devon Prep to update and enhance the computer laboratory, thus providing our students the ability to keep pace with the fast-breaking developments in technology.
Scholarship Funds
While unrestricted gifts to the Annual Giving Campaign provide Devon Prep with operating funds to help maintain the quality of its academic programs, scholarship gifts enable the school to award scholarship aid to deserving students. Funds earmarked for scholarships will be used to finance full and/or partial scholarships that are awarded yearly for academic achievement.
You can also give or gain a little immortality while making a lasting impact on future generations through the gift of an endowed scholarship in your name or in the name of someone you would like to honor.
Matching Gifts
The easiest way to make your gift to Devon Prep grow is through matching gifts. Donors (or their spouses) employed by companies with matching gift programs can double or triple their contributions by designating Devon Preparatory School as the recipient of matching gifts.
United Way
Devon Prep CYO is eligible to participate in the Donor Choice/Specific Care Program of the United Way Program of Southeastern Pennsylvania. During the United Way’s annual campaign, donors may designate a gift to Devon Prep CYO on the Donor Choice pledge/designation form through Specific Care.
- Devon Prep CYO is classified as a “non-member agency,” and recorded as CYO/DEVON PREP, 363 Valley Forge Road, Devon, PA 19333, with I.D. #04636. The assigned identification number is consistent from year to year.
Gifts of Appreciated Property
A gift of stock, real estate or other appreciated property can provide vital support to Devon Prep as well as tax advantages to the donor. The full value of the securities is usually deductible, and you may avoid the capital gains tax on the profit.
Gifts in Kind
Devon Prep gratefully accepts gifts of supplies, books, and equipment. Tax deductions are available for firms contributing gifts in kind to educational institutions.
Bequests
Providing for Devon Prep is as easy as adding a phrase to your will. You may wish to consider naming Devon Prep to receive all or part of your estate. Through careful planning you can protect your family and also contribute to the financial security of Devon Prep.
Memorial and Tribute Gifts
Donors can further educational opportunities at Devon Prep by honoring or memorializing a special person or event. Acknowledgment of the gift is made directly to the family or designated individual.
Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program
Companies that do business and pay corporate taxes in Pennsylvania receive substantial tax credits for donations to Devon Preparatory School’s student financial aid program. The Educational Improvement Tax Credit program is a wonderful opportunity for Devon Preparatory School and our corporate donors. Our financial aid program, which provides financial assistance to needy students, is currently funded by individual contributions to the school. Donations through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program allow us to offer access to a private school education to more students, who may otherwise not be able to attend Devon Prep.
- More details on the program are available in this downloadable brochure.
