Athletic Trainer – September 2018


Devon Preparatory School a Catholic, college preparatory school for young men in grade six to twelve, is seeking a part-time Athletic Trainer to join our Athletics Department to start immediately. This is a twelve-month position.

The position of Athletic Trainer will report directly to the Director of Athletics.  The Athletic Trainer is responsible for the management of injuries and preventative care for secondary school athletes.  The Athletic Trainer will render emergency care and develop and provide injury prevention. Athletic training includes assessment, management, treatment, rehabilitation, and recondition of an athlete whose conditions are within the professional preparation and education of a certified athletic trainer. Scope also includes the utilization of modalities such as mechanical stimulation, heat, cold, light, air, electricity, sound, massage, therapeutic exercises, reconditioning exercise and fitness programs. Performs other related duties as assigned.


  • Provide athletic training services to student-athletes and to ensure proper safety, supervision
  • Respond to injuries at sports events, athletic activities, and related programs
  • Daily duties typically begin at 2:00 p.m. on weekdays and include some evenings and weekends (for sports events).

Devon Prep’s Athletic staff has frequent encounters with visitors, students, faculty and staff throughout the campus. It is important to maintain a helpful, positive demeanor while interacting with these individuals. The Athletic Trainer reports directly to the Director of Athletics but may be directed by other Administration during the day if emergencies arise.

The Athletic Trainer is supervised directly by the Director of Athletics.


  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field
  • National Athletic Trainers Association certification (NATA BOC)
  • Pennsylvania licensure/registration (or in process of attaining)


  • PA teaching certification (Health and Physical Education)
