2011 Alumni Golf Outing

On Monday, September 26, 2011, Devon’s dedicated golfers returned to Pottstown to play in the annual Devon Prep Alumni Golf Outing at Bellewood Golf Club. Alumni, parents, and friends were treated to a warm, sunny afternoon to enjoy the challenging links. Afterwards, the golfers were joined by Devon’s Headmaster, Fr. Jim Shea ’66, and Alumni Association President, Barry Mulhern ‘72, to share a gourmet dinner.

As a token of the Alumni Association’s appreciation, the golfers began their round teeing off with a new sleeve of golf balls and wearing a hat or visor from Titleist. A large poster displayed the names of organizations and individuals sponsoring the Golf Outing. Through their generous support and the efforts of many others, the Alumni Association again raised more important funds on behalf of Devon Prep.

A young foursome broke the Curran spell after three years, as Andrew Fox ’05, Dan Heavy ’05, Ryan Shanley ’05, and Tim Gola ’07 came in with the lowest round. Although Ed Curran ’88 had to settle for second place this year, alumni appreciated his role in organizing a fun event and for repeating as a major sponsor, along with teammate and classmate Nick Meter ’88.
