Devon Prep Alumni Golf Outing 2010
On Thursday, September 16, 2010, 27 golfers returned to Pottstown to play in the annual Devon Prep Alumni Golf Outing at Bellewood Golf Club. Alumni, parents, and friends spent a damp afternoon on the challenging links, and afterwards, joined by Devon’s Headmaster, Fr. Jim Shea ’66, and Alumni Association President, Barry Mulhern ‘72, enjoyed a gourmet dinner.
As a token of the Alumni Association’s appreciation, the golfers this year each received a glass mug stamped with the Devon Prep Crest and filled with sundry golf items. A large poster displayed the names of organizations and individuals sponsoring the Golf Outing. Through their generous support and the efforts of many others, the Alumni Association will have raised more than $10,000 again on behalf of Devon Prep.
The winning foursome for the third year in a row again included the Curran brothers, James ’87 and Ed ’88. It almost seems appropriate, since Ed Curran, along with teammate and classmate, Nick Meter, repeated as a major sponsor of the Devon Prep Alumni Golf Outing.
