6th GRADE

Social Science - U.S. Constitution, Pennsylvania History, U.S. History I

English - Concentration on Reading Comprehension, Literary Analysis, and Composition Skills, using the same text series as the High School.

Mathematics - Math 6, Pre-Algebra

Science - Earth Sciences

Religion - Old Testament

Computer Science - Introduction to computer use in academic and business contexts: Focus on building keyboard skills and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products.

Music - In class, students develop an appreciation for music of various eras and composers. After school, students may join the band or choral group.

Art - Studio Art: color theory, perspective, lettering, design, and crafts are explored in a hands-on fashion.

Physical Education - Instruction is offered in major team sports as well as individual sporting events. Classes also offer development of character by teaching fairness, cooperation, and sportsmanship.

Field Education - Field education focuses on day trips to resources in the Philadelphia area, with annual trips to New York, Washington, D.C., and Boston.

School Retreat - Each year the Middle School conducts a retreat to the Malvern Retreat House. There they participate in activities that help cultivate their spirituality.

7th GRADE
